CONTRADICTIONS in fashion collections are attractive. Reem Alkanhal’s works are collectible but also supremely wearable; culturally subversive and yet respectful of the brand’s KSA roots. A graduate of the private women’s college Arts and Skills Institute (a school allegedly with a spirit akin to London’s Central Saint Martins), based in downtown Riyadh, Alkanhal was the talent of the first class of 2009 who confidently powered onto the scene and landed unexpected garments into the wardrobes of global citizens.
